If there is still unpartitioned space on your hard disk, you can create another partition and recover the files to that new partition. If available, you can also recover to network drives which are mapped to drive letters. And you can attach another drive, like for instance another hard disk or any kind of external drive which can e.g. be connected to the USB port. You must not install any software to C: because deleted files could be overwritten.
